Armed thugs storm Ijegun polling units, threaten Igbo voters

Armed thugs have stormed Polling Units in Ijegun, Lagos threating voters.
According to some voters, thugs arrived the Polling Unit 089 on Adebayo Street, Off Community Road, Ijegun in five motorcycles, brandishing weapons.
The thugs, they said, announced that all Igbo waiting to vote should leave since they would vote for candidates of the Labour Party (LP).
The voters said the armed thugs threatened that anybody who flouted their orders would not leave the place alive.
The thugs, it was gathered, left some people in the group behind to monitor the polling unit and left for other places to do the same.
It was gathered that the leader of the armed thugs is well know in the area.
Voters are calling on security agencies to come to their aid.
One of them, a lawyer, said: “Security agencies should come and protect voters and INEC officials. In elections, voters should be allowed to make their choice freely.”
