Aremu lauds Buhari’s pledge of all-inclusive government

The Labour Party governorship candidate in Kwara State, Comrade Issa Aremu, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on his re-election and for his statesmanship by promising to run an all-inclusive government.

Aremu, in his address at a stakeholder meeting in Ilorin comprising LP officials, organised labour, market men and women, tailors, students, people living with disabilities among others, said Buhari’s statement was an indication of his true statesmanship.

He said the outcome of the presidential election showed that majority of Nigerians were on the side of Buhari.

Aremu, therefore, asked Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to fulfill his election promise of ensuring inclusive governance when inaugurated for second term in office on May 29 this year.

The LP governorship candidate also congratulated President Buhari for emerging as the 4th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in a keenly contested, peaceful and free Presidential election held on Saturday 23rdFebruary 2019.

He equally commended the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other contestants for coming out to contest and canvassing for votes, noting that there cannot be a winner without contestants.

Aremu observed that there was no loser in the last elections, said all the 84.2 millions voters registered men and women are winners.

He said “there is no loser in the last election. The winners are Nigerians, namely, 84.2 registered men and women voters and 200 million Nigerians who have reaffirmed faith in democracy.”

Aremu who is also a NEC member of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) stated that with minimum/living wage for the working men and women of Nigeria, reopening of closed factories, inclusive development, decent jobs, water, electricity, good road, all Nigerians are winners.  He noted that the primary purpose of government is security and welfare of the people.

The Labour Party governorship hopeful also hailed INEC and security agencies for ensuring a successful Presidential election and called on all contestants to accept the outcome of the elections and avoid endless litigations.

He said successful conduct of elections in Nigeria shows that democracy is being consolidated in Nigeria.

Aremu reaffirmed his intention to run for governorship position in the state, saying that Labour Party is a party to beat in Kwara State as the party was fully prepared for the governorship election on Saturday March 9, 2019.
