The General Overseer of Vineyard Christian Ministers International, Lagos, Archbishop John Osa-Oni, has called on President Bola Tinubu, to take urgent and decisive steps to end the growing wave of insurgency and violence in Nigeria.
According to him, the country “needs quick action to conquer genocidal attacks,” stressing that repeated conversations without concrete implementation is no longer sufficient.
Archbishop Osa-Oni made this call during a press conference announcing the church’s forthcoming “Word Conference”, scheduled to hold from 3rd to 7th December, 2025, at the ministry’s international headquarters, Isolo, Lagos.
He urged Nigerians to adopt a more positive outlook towards the country and their personal lives, warning that negative speech contributes to national and individual setbacks.
“People castigated me many years ago when I said Nigeria is where it is today because of what we say with our mouths, what we say is what we become. To be what we desire, we must redirect our focus to the spoken word. Nothing builds us more than the word, and the word is God, and Jesus is the Word,” he said.
According to him, the scripture says: ‘Thou art snared by the words of thy mouth.”
