Appointments: We have been dumped, Tinubu supporters group cry out

From Noah Ebije, Kaduna

Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), a Tinubu supporter group in the 2023 presidential campaign, has lamented that most of those who worked against the presidential victory of Tinubu at the February polls are not enjoying appointments at the detriment of those who laboured day and night for the final success of President Tinubu.

The group lamented that its members have been dumped from benefitting political appointments at the national level after bringing Tinubu to power.

Regrettably, the group noted that those who did not work for All Progressive Congress (APC) are enjoying appointments, asking rather rhetorically, “What exactly are these people looking for in Tinubu’s government?”.

The National Coordinator of DOJ, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje in a statement on Thursday said as a supporter group, he and his men have done their best, “and if human beings cannot reward us, God will definitely reward us.”

According to Comrade Alawuje, “Some of those who got the appointment used the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the centre to rubbish Tinubu during the campaign.

“After all, if other state governors or other Tinubu supporters handled Tinubu’s campaign as those people did, will Tinubu become president today? Yet they moved up and down to be rewarded in a place they did not labour for.

“We even know that some of them demolished offices and shops we rented for Tinubu’s campaign when they were in a position to the extent some landlords don’t want to rent out their property to anybody to use it for campaign office,

“They threatened anyone with Tinubu’s Logo in their states. We will not keep quiet. When we are talking, they will say this is politics. That means it’s truly dirty. Then how do you expect Almighty God who is the Most Clean to have any support for the dirty things we are practising in Nigeria?

“Many of the people benefitting from appointments led Aso Rock Cabals on a mission of ending Tinubu’s political career during the presidential campaign.

“We that worked for Tinubu cannot be dying silently. We deserve an appointment in this government. They don’t deserve anything in this government.

“Infact they don’t even have a conscience, that was why they stood before the Senate for confirmation of appointment.

“We are worried and notice that it is very disheartening if the system keeps bringing in avowed enemies and locking out the real friends of the government that some of us laboured to bring to power.

“Our people should not forget that our real enemies are known just as we do of our real friends. If we discredit our real friends who represent our pillar of support, we may inadvertently lock out divine favours and support.

“In the process of defence of our principal against his enemies, when the war was intense and uncertainty hovered above the political space, some of us became their greatest enemies.

“It is very unfortunate that we are finding our enemies directly in the bedroom of our mother, relaxing and we are being drenched in the rain and stranded in the sun outside of the house we built.

“We warn the people in charge of appointments to be fair, just and equitable as well as fear the Almighty God in the discharge of their constitutional duty.”
