The South West Coordinator of the Elders Forum and Senior Special Adviser to the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Moshood Ajao, has clarified that no court nullified the election of Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.

Alhaji Ajao explained in a statement that Alhaji Akinsanya was elected at the zonal delegates’ conference of the NURTW held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on 9 November 2024, and was never a party to any court proceedings.

He stated that MC Oluomo did not file the appeal described as devoid of merit.

Ajao further explained that the Appeal Court judgment was delivered in Abuja on 8 November 2024, while the zonal delegates’ conference in Osogbo was conducted on 9 November 2024.

The Senior Special Adviser noted that members of the NURTW, particularly the delegates at the conference, and Alhaji Akinsanya were not aware of any judgement at the time the election was conducted.

Ajao admitted that the union had a case at the National Industrial Court earlier this year, and judgment was delivered, but MC Oluomo was neither a petitioner nor a defendant in the said case.

The South West Coordinator of the Elders Forum of the NURTW explained that the decision to elect Alhaji Akinsanya as President of the NURTW was to achieve peace and tranquillity in the union, as he was not a party to any litigation or leadership crisis within the NURTW.
