From Abel Leonard, Lafia

Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has affirmed the victory of Jacob Ajegana Kudu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Nasarawa Eggon East constituency.

The ruling dismissed the petition lodged by Ibrahim Muhammed, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Appeal Court’s decision ratified the earlier ruling of the lower tribunal, which had upheld Kudu’s victory.

Following the pronouncement, Kudu thanked the judiciary for upholding the people’s choice and reaffirmed his dedication to serving the constituents diligently.

He extended an Olive branch to his opponents as he emphasised the need for unity and collaboration to drive progress and development in the constituency.

“This verdict signals the conclusion of a lengthy legal process and paves the way for focused representation and developmental initiatives within the constituency.

“This judgment reaffirms the trust bestowed upon me by the constituents. I am committed to working tirelessly for the betterment of Nasarawa Eggon East and urge for unity among all stakeholders for our collective progress,” Kudu said.
