By Moses Akaigwe

An energy expert and consultant, Apostle Samuel Chukwunenye Nwaire, will today (June 22, 2024) be installed the General Overseer of  Christian Life Gospel Assembly (CLGA), a fast growing pentecostal church in the Oke-Afa area of Isolo. Lagos.

Currently the Deputy General Overseer of CLGA, Apostle Nwaire will today be filling the vacuum created by the death of the founder/General Overseer, Rev. Isaac Ugbiaja, exactly a year and eight months ago (on October 23, 2022).

The installation ceremony, which is being organised by the Christian Life Gospel Assembly, in partnership with the Fellowship of Frontline Apostles and Prophets, will take place at the church’s auditorium

A press statement by the Media and Publicity indicates that notable men of God, captains of industry, colleagues and friends of Apostle Sam Nwaire and Christian Life, are expected to attend the ceremony.

The ordination of pastors, deacons, deaconesses, and evangelists, according to the statement, will also take place the same day, while a special thanksgiving service will be held tomorrow (Sunday, June 23).

Nwaire whose career in the energy sector spans close to 40 years since his first appointment by the then National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) in 1980, is currently the  Commissioner of Power and Chairman CEO, Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission appointed by Gov. Uzodimma.

His involvement with the Christian Life Gospel Assembly started at its inception in 1992 where he and his family were among the pioneer members of the ministry.

The General Overseer-elect is a member of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International where he rose to the position of a National Director.

A well known philanthropist, he has undertaken several theological studies which culminated in his having a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and a Master’s degree in Church Management (in view)  among several other certificates. These have placed him in a vintage position to use his talents in the furtherance of the work of God.

Giving insight into today’s installation ceremony, Apostle Nwaire stated, “This is a new chapter of the church, and as such, certain things have to be done to bring it to the level it is expected, and one of such is the retreat and ordination.

“We normally have our retreat in May, but this year, we pushed it forward to June, and after the retreat, we will have the ordination. In this new chapter, there are some people that have been with us for a long time, and there are those that joined us later. So, the ordination is a convergence of the two.”

He further said, “Consecration and Ordination of the General Overseer is a way of setting him apart for Holy Ghost impartation. Having been G.O-elect, this is the process of finally handing him over to God for total equipment for the purpose of God’s glory.’’

A holder of both a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.SC) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos, Akoka, the General Overseer has been in marriage to his heart throb, Pastor Mrs. Cecilia Onyemazuwa Nwaire, for 38 years (May 22, 1986), and their union is blessed with four children.
