Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms Chinwe Okoli, has said that the resolution reached by the leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to end transactional politics was firm and final.

Okoli, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Solution Innovation District (SID), said that the reforms introduced during the recent South East stakeholders’ meeting of the party held in Awka, the Anambra State capital, would go a long way in remoulding and reshaping the party, making it more attractive to Nigerians.

She said that the party’s firm decision to stop tolerating political moves that do not add value to the system and society was a bold move that would help reinforce party ideology; something that is largely absent in Nigerian politics.

“Yes, new guidelines were introduced to shape the upcoming primaries for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate. But the real focus was on what the party must stand for,” she said.

The SID boss said that progressivism, which was reiterated at the meeting, “is a disciplined commitment to using governance to deliver real outcomes: improving livelihoods, expanding opportunities, and building systems that outlast individuals.

“There was a clear call to move away from transactional politics. A party cannot exist merely as a vehicle for personal ambition. It must be grounded in shared values, long-term thinking, and collective responsibility. Without that, it becomes opportunistic and unstable.

“The party itself is evolving. From the digitisation of membership to more structured internal processes, APGA is shifting from informal politics to a more organised and accountable system. There is also a deliberate effort to empower youths and women, starting from the party’s leadership,” she said.

Okoli explained that the party’s agenda was to build, not just a political platform, but a political institution.

“The charge to members was to develop true party consciousness. That means alignment with values, consistency in action, and loyalty to principles, not just personalities. In the end, the party must serve and benefit everyone,” she said.
