The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mary Alile-Idele, has commended Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, over his unwavering support towards enhancing women participation in politics in the state.
She spoke in Makurdi, Benue State, at the flag-off of the pilot scheme of her nationwide per-programme, “Project 774 Explode Initiative” for women in politics.
In a statement the Media office of the National Women Leader made available in Abuja on Friday explained that “Project 774 Explode Initiative” is a nation-wide campaign aimed at mobilising and empowering women in politics across the 774 local government areas of the country.
The project’s primary objective, according to the statement, is also to enhanced gender space in politics by ensuring that the APC’s female constituents are actively engaged in the political activities and decision-making processes.

The National Women Leader was quoted to have praised Governor Alia for pioneering the project in the country and his commitment towards women’s empowerment in driving sustainable development.
Commending the governor’s efforts in creating an enabling environment for women in the state to thrive, both in the public and private sectors, Alile-Idele further highlighted that his efforts are worthy of emulation by other states Chief Executives in the interest of teeming women populace in the country.
She decribed the governor’s commitment to Project 774 Explode Initiative” as a testament to his vision for a more inclusive and equitable Benue State.
While citing provision of financial assistance to over 5,000 beneficiaries of the project in the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Benue State by the state governor, she noted: “We commend the governor for providing opportunities for women to strive in his government. We also applaud his entrepreneurial support for women in the state.
“The unwavering support for the “Project 774 Explode” by the governor is an inspiration and will undoubtedly pave the way for a stronger, more vibrant, and empowered women’s community in Benue State.”
