APC wins by-election in Benue

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) candidate, Hon. Terwase Peter Uche has won the bye elections for Guma 1 State Constituency.

The returning officer, Prof Julius Ikya from Joseph Sawuan Tarka University Makurdi, (JOSTUM), declared that the APC candidate polled 5,289 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jimmy Geoffrey of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) who polled 4,134 votes.

He also stated that while Labour Party, (LP), candidate polled a total of 2,833, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA), polled 121 followed by African Democratic Congress, (ADC), which polled 72 votes.

Declaring the results, Professor Ikya said the APC candidate, Terwase Peter Uche, having polled the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the bye elections for Guma 1 State Constituency elections held on February 3, 2024.
