The All Progressives Congress Support Groups has told the party to set up a 19-member caretaker committee drawn from the six geo-political zones, to draft a constitution for the Amalgamated APC Support Groups (AASG) within 45 days.
The group’s Convener, Dr AK Peters, in a statement, yesterday said that the Committee should not last for more than 90 days.
Peter also proposed that the committee should appoint and inaugurate an AASG electoral body to conduct a free, fair, transparent and credible general within 28 days to usher in a new leadership for the Amalgamated APC Support Groups.
The think-tank of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups was created by some concerned leaders and members of the Amalgamated All Progressives Congress Support Groups because of the dissolution of parallel leaderships on November 16.
“We call on our father, leader, mentor, and Grandmaster, His Excellency, Mr. President to also favourably consider us for appointments into his government as we have the best of brains, hands and leg that can bring the renewed hope agenda to fruition.
“We congratulate the leadership of the APC under the able stewardship of the National Chairman, His Excellency, Abdulahi Umar Ganduje PhD, CON for the fatherly manner he handled the Amalgamated APC Support Groups crisis,” he added.
