A coalition of labour leaders, professionals and artisans operating under the aegis of Working People United (WOPU) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries, describing the outcome as a historic endorsement of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to results announced by former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, who chaired the Presidential Election Committee, Tinubu polled over 10 million votes in the direct primary to secure the party’s ticket for the upcoming general election, with his only rival, Stanley Osifo, scoring 16,503 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Tinubu assured Nigerians that he would consolidate on the gains achieved by his administration over the last three years.
In a statement released in Abuja and signed by the National Coordinator of WOPU, Comrade Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, the movement stated: “The votes of 10.9 million Nigerians cannot be an error; they were earned through policies that prioritise the welfare, productivity, and future of the people.
