APC primaries: Keep your head up – Seyi Tinubu to Cubana Chief Priest after defeat

Seyi Tinubu to Cubana Chief Priest

Seyi Tinubu has encouraged celebrity businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, to remain optimistic after he failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.

Cubana Chief Priest, who serves as the Imo State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, had contested for the House of Representatives ticket during the APC primary election held on Saturday as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The socialite had earlier purchased both the expression of interest and nomination forms, declaring that his political ambition was inspired by a desire to promote youth empowerment, grassroots development and stronger political participation among young people in the constituency.

However, he was unsuccessful in the primary and did not emerge as the party’s candidate for the federal constituency race.

Reacting to the outcome on Sunday through his Instagram story, Seyi Tinubu, who is also the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement, urged him not to be discouraged by the setback.

He noted that political defeats sometimes create opportunities for greater success in the future and advised him to remain focused on his broader ambitions.

“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” he wrote.

His message quickly drew attention online, with supporters interpreting it as both encouragement and a sign of continued political support for Cubana Chief Priest despite the primary loss.

The APC primaries across the country have continued to shape the political landscape ahead of 2027, with several prominent figures either securing tickets or falling short in their bid to represent the ruling party in upcoming elections.
