Stanley Osifo has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s position as the incumbent does not guarantee victory in the presidential race, insisting that only election day will determine who emerges as the flagbearer of APC.
Speaking during an interview on ARISE News, Osifo maintained that incumbency should not be seen as an automatic ticket to success, stressing that the decision ultimately lies with party members and the democratic process.
According to him, the APC remains one united political family, and the presidential primary should not be viewed as a personal battle among aspirants.
“Election Day will decide my presidential chances against President Tinubu. Incumbency guarantees nothing,” he said.
He explained that whether he defeats Tinubu or loses to him in the primary, both men would still work together in the interest of the party.

“One important thing is that we are all members of APC, and we are not fighting one another. If I defeat him, he will work with me, and if he wins, I will support and work with him,” Osifo stated.
The presidential hopeful stressed that mutual respect and understanding among APC members remain stronger than political rivalry, adding that the party’s unity must come before individual ambition.
He said the primary election should be approached with sportsmanship and maturity, noting that every aspirant must be prepared to either lead or support whoever emerges victorious.
Osifo also expressed confidence that the APC’s internal democratic process would provide a fair platform for all contenders, regardless of status or political influence.
He added that his ambition is driven by his belief in service and party growth, not personal confrontation with the president, insisting that the strength of the APC lies in its ability to manage competition without division.
