As Area Council elections approach next month, Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mariya Mahmoud has confidently predicted victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the party’s strong unity and innovative e-registration drive.

According to a statement by her media aide, Austine Elemue, she spoke at the flag-off ceremony of the APC’s e-registration exercise at Apo Community Town Hall in Abuja, where she described the initiative as a “milestone” in promoting inclusiveness, technology, and democratic participation.
Mahmoud praised APC leadership for embracing digital tools to boost transparency and accessibility, especially for youths, ahead of the polls.

“The cohesion in our party is a clear sign we’re coasting to victory,” Mahmoud declared, underscoring the APC’s roots in progressive ideals like broad participation and internal democracy. She stressed that e-registration goes beyond numbers—it’s about fortifying party structures, updating databases, and amplifying every member’s voice in Nigeria’s future.

Highlighting the FCT’s status as the nation’s capital and cultural hub, Mahmoud urged men, women, youths, and persons with disabilities to register or update records promptly. She reaffirmed APC’s backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, calling for grassroots unity and dynamism to drive people-oriented governance.

FCT APC Chairman Abdulmalik Usman echoed the optimism, noting the exercise aligns with Tinubu’s directive for nationwide member revalidation. He commended the massive turnout, quipping,

“While APC leads, others follow.”
The e-registration portal promises a seamless process, positioning the APC for stronger mobilization in the keenly watched Area Council races.
