The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has made major adjustments in the composition of the head of its 2026 APC National Convention Central Coordination Committee, removing the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, as the chairman and replacing him with the former governor of Katsina state, Aminu Bello Masari.
In the very short tight statement the ruling party issued to announce the shake up, it attributed the adjustment to; “zoning exigencies.”
The governing party equally announced former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Pius Anyim and the incumbent governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrahman as the first and second vice chairman of the convention committee respectively.
Other News
The leadership of the ruling party however retained the governor of Yobe and onetime caretaker committee chairman of the party, Mai Mala-Buni as the secretary of the committee.
Governor Uzodimma, the incumbent chairman of the APC Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), however retained his membership of the convention committee, but in the capacity of the Treasurer.
Other members of the committee include the principal officers of the National Assembly comprising the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, his deputy, Barau I Jubrin, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, founding members of the party like Chief Bisi Akande, Comrade Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairmen of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Other members include former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, Dimeji Bankole, Yakubu Dogara, Patricia Ette among many others.
