All Progressives Congress (APC) has moved to consolidate its political structure across the North Central ahead of the 2027 general elections, with governors, ministers, legislators and other stakeholders pledging full mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The mobilisation will climax in a mega rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 10, which the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described as the “mother of all rallies.”

The rally, to be hosted by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, will be headlined by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu】, and is expected to draw party leaders, women and youth groups, grassroots organisations and supporters from the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Yilwatda disclosed the mobilisation plan after a high-level meeting of North Central APC stakeholders in Abuja on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; governors and deputy governors from the region; ministers; members of the National Assembly and other political office holders.

According to the APC chairman, the stakeholders unanimously agreed to deploy their respective political structures and supporters for the Lafia rally as part of efforts to demonstrate the region’s support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.

He said the meeting was aimed at coordinating political activities and strengthening grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The meeting reflected a shared determination among participating stakeholders to coordinate their activities and strengthen grassroots engagement in support of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket,” the statement quoted Yilwatda as saying.

The stakeholders also acknowledged Akume’s role in bringing political leaders from the North Central together and commended Governor Sule for agreeing to host the rally.

They further welcomed the planned participation of the First Lady as the headline guest, while reviewing arrangements for the mobilisation of party members and supporters across the region.

The North Central comprises Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau states, alongside the Federal Capital Territory.

The APC chairman also commiserated with families of victims of the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and the mining tragedy in Niger State.

He described the incidents as painful losses and extended condolences to the bereaved families and affected communities.

The stakeholders ended the meeting with a reaffirmation of their commitment to the successful hosting of the Lafia rally and the re-election of Tinubu and Shettima in 2027.
