Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi West have urged the party leadership to undertake a deliberate and strategic review of its approach to the 2027 senatorial election.

The position was presented at a well-attended press conference involving executive members of the party’s Kogi State chapter and local government chairmen from all seven LGAs in the district.

Speaking through the State Youth Leader, Hon. Abdulrasheed Buhari, the stakeholders stated that their stance followed extensive consultations with party leaders, traditional institutions, youth groups, women organisations, and ward executives across the zone.

They emphasised that their recommendation is aimed at strengthening the party’s electoral prospects and ensuring broader inclusion across Kogi West.

The group stressed the need for elected representatives to maintain stronger ties with party structures and remain accessible to constituents, noting that these are critical to sustaining grassroots support.

They further called on the party to adopt a transparent and inclusive process in selecting its candidate for the 2027 senatorial election, insisting that openness would be key to preserving unity and internal cohesion.

In addition, the stakeholders urged continuous engagement among party members to maintain stability and reinforce collective support for the party’s leadership at both state and national levels.

Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC, the group also expressed firm support for the administrations of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing their intervention as a necessary step toward securing the party’s long-term success in Kogi West.
