A crowd of supporters of the All Progressives Congress converged in Onitsha at the weekend for the governorship campaign rally the party’s candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu.

During the rally, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was given a 196-hour ultimatum to vacate the Anambra government house. President Tinubu, who was represented by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, told supporters that the party will work for Ukachukwu’s victory at the polls ,dismissing reports that President Tinubu has a preferred candidate.

“November 8, 2025, is a day of peace and special blessings for Anambra State Governorship. You will go out there and vote and you will be victorious. An adopted son is not the same as a biological son. We have a son in Anambra who is Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu. We have come to present him to you. We have come to present the next Governor of Anambra State to you.

“It is our collective desire and, hopefully too, that there shall be reconciliation, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of Igbo land and connect them to the centre. We can’t continue to talk about lack of federal roads and bridges in the South East. If Anambra is prepared to go to the centre, then Igbo land is complete,” he said.

APC’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, noted that they came to renew hope for the people of South East. He said he came on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and that it’s only eight days remaining to uproot APGA out of the way.

“We have only 196 hours from now for APGA to end its reign; only 196 hours and APGA is gone. In eight days, there will be no Governor in Nigeria that will bear the tag of APGA again. We now have 25 Governors and by Saturday, November 8, Anambra will make it 26.

“If anybody is claiming that he is an adopted son in APC, he is lying. We have only one son and he is Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu. If you are not APC, you are not. There is no counterfeit. I urge you to use the APC broom to sweep away the ghost APGA,” he said.

Prince Ukachukwu, in his remark, called on his supporters to be brave and go to the polling booths on November 8 and vote APC so as to form the next government in the state. “The fowl is dead. The umbrella is torn irretrievably and it is our duty to use our broom to sweep away their carcasses,” he stated.

The Anambra State chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike, in his statement said that the party is on course to win the November 8 governorship election in the state because they have worked hard and deserve victory.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, in his speech said: “You can tell the blind that there is no oil in the soup, but you can’t tell him that the soup is not salted enough. If he cannot see the oil, at least he can taste the soup. APC is the largest democratic party in Africa. There will be enough security to protect citizens and voters from harassment. Vote for the largest party in Africa. Do not fear.”
