A former Sénator and leading politician in Kano State, Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa has accused the All Progressives Congress governments at all levels of implementathg policies that are inimical to the survival of Nigerians. .
Doguwa stated this, Friday in a press release renouncing his membership of the All Progressives Congress and his decision to join the Peoples Democratic Party.alongside his supporters.
Doguwa, his working colleagues and political associates resigned their membership from the ruling party on Thursday, July 11, 2024 according to the statement. .
The Senator explained that his decision to leave the APC was consequent upon series of wide-range consultations with his supporters who believed that APC, at all levels, had not taken advantage of their long-standing experience in politics and governance.
“As members of the APC, we feel we are being grossly underutilized, as we are rarely involved in any forum to discuss and share our experiences for the development of the party, the State or the Nation”
“In addition to these, we have discovered, after careful appraisal of the activities of the APC governments, that many of their policies are “anti peoples oriented”, which do not align with our political ideology. They prioritize policies that cause more harm than good to the ordinary citizens of this country”.
“Based on the foregoing therefore, we heed to the instruction of our elders and the advice of our political associates, to hereby announce that, we as a group have taken the bold decision to return to our political base, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to continue as full pledged members” .
Saturday Sun gathered that Doguwa, a long standing ally of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will join the likes of former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau and a former foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali to rebuild the PDP at the state level.
