… Says North West firmly aligned with President Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) France Chapter, has warmly welcomed and described the defection of Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, into Nigeria’s ruling party fold, as a significant political development that further strengthens the growing national coalition behind President Bola Tinubu.
Welcoming him into the APC in a statement issued in Paris by the Chairperson of the APC France Chapter, Amina Suzuki, the chapter argued that the decision of Governor Lawal to align with the APC reflects the rising confidence of political leaders and citizens across the country in the reform-driven leadership of President Tinubu.
According to Suzuki, “the governor’s defection signals a major consolidation of political support in the strategic North West geopolitical zone, which has historically played a decisive role in determining the outcome of presidential elections in Nigeria.
“The North West remains one of the most influential voting blocs in Nigeria’s democratic process. With this significant political realignment in Zamfara, it is increasingly evident that President Tinubu’s leadership and policies are gaining widespread acceptance across the region,” the statement read.
The ruling party chapter further noted that the defection of Governor Lawal into the party represents not just a personal political decision but a broader endorsement of the Renewed Hope agenda championed by the Tinubu administration.

It further stated that the development has strengthened the political structure of the party ahead of future electoral contests, adding that the growing support base across the North West has positioned the president strongly for a successful re-election bid.
“As members of the APC in the diaspora, we see this development as a clear indication that the North West is rallying behind President Tinubu. The people of the region understand the importance of stability, economic reforms, and national unity being pursued by this administration,” Suzuki said.
The APC France Chapter also announced that Governor Lawal will be honoured by the chapter as its Patron Designate, in recognition of his leadership role and his decision to join the progressive family.
The chapter assured that members of the diaspora will continue to mobilize support, promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration globally, and work with stakeholders across Nigeria to consolidate democratic gains.
Suzuki concluded by urging; “political leaders and citizens across the country to continue to rally behind the APC-led government in order to sustain reforms, strengthen national security, and advance Nigeria’s economic recovery.”
