The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its House of Representatives primary elections in Gombe State, with the party’s election committee declaring the exercise transparent, peaceful and compliant with the Electoral Act 2026.
The Chairman of the Gombe State House of Representatives and Senate Primary Elections Committee, Labiru Musa Kafur, announced the results during a press conference held on Saturday at the Press Centre in Gombe.
Kafur said the committee, constituted by the National Working Committee of the APC, adopted the direct primary mode to ensure that only verified party members participated in the exercise across the six federal constituencies in the state.
According to him, accreditation was conducted through the presentation of valid APC membership cards alongside verification from the party membership register at each voting point.
He explained that members of the committee were deployed to various constituencies, including Kumo, Billiri, Kaltungo and Gombe, to monitor the exercise in real time, while security agencies, civil society groups and independent observers supervised the process.
Announcing the results, the committee declared Usman Bello Kumo the winner of the Akko Federal Constituency primary after polling all 21,813 votes cast.

In Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, Ali Isa JC secured victory with 23,362 votes, defeating Alfred John, who scored 2,822 votes, and Saratu Hamman Jauro, who polled 224 votes.
For Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency, Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa emerged as the winner with 28,144 votes, while Umar Ahmed received 1,066 votes.
In Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Saddam Bello won the ticket after scoring 54,260 votes against Zakariya Jidda’s 5,902 votes.
The committee also declared Fatima Binta Bello the winner of the Kaltungo/Shongom primary after securing all 13,824 votes cast, while Inuwa Garba clinched the Yamaltu/Deba ticket with all 23,840 votes recorded in the constituency.
Kafur described the exercise as orderly and credible, stating that the conduct of party members and aspirants reflected the strength of the APC’s internal democratic process.
He added that the certified results would be transmitted to the APC National Working Committee for ratification and formal confirmation of the party’s candidates for the 2026 general elections.
