A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tony Nwobodo, has urged delegates of the National Convention scheduled to hold in Abuja to approach the exercise with unity, patriotism and a strong sense of responsibility.

A notice by the Secretary of the party’s aspirants’ screening committee, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, stated that the exercise would be held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.

Yuguda, former Governor of Bauchi State, said all aspirants who had purchased and submitted their expression of interest and nomination forms were required to appear in person.

He added that candidates were expected to arrive early at the venue with all relevant supporting documents to facilitate the verification process.

In a goodwill message, he wished the delegates a safe and successful trip to the Federal Capital Territory for the crucial gathering.

“Let me warmly felicitate with all our great party delegates entrusted with the responsibility of representing their constituencies at this critical National Convention. This is not just another routine gathering; it is a defining moment in the life of our party where far-reaching decisions will be taken to strengthen our internal democracy, consolidate unity and reposition the APC for greater service to Nigerians.

“To our delegates from Enugu State, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a safe and successful journey to Abuja. As you travel, remain guided by the core values of our party, discipline, integrity and commitment to the collective good. You carry not just personal mandates, but the hopes and aspirations of our members back home who believe in a stronger APC.

“It is my expectation that this convention will be conducted in an atmosphere of peace, transparency and mutual respect. Let us seize this opportunity to deepen cohesion, build bridges and emerge more united and focused.

“I encourage all delegates to engage constructively, shun divisive tendencies and prioritise the long-term progress of our great party. The decisions taken will shape the future of the APC and the political landscape of our country.”

He expressed confidence that the convention would be successful and further strengthen the party’s leadership and commitment to good governance.
