The All Progressives Congress (APC) Harmonisation Committee overseeing the forthcoming ward and local government congresses in Anambra State, chaired by Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, has reiterated its resolve to ensure a peaceful, credible, and inclusive process in strict compliance with party directives.
Addressing party members on Monday ahead of the exercise, Senator Ekwunife assured that the committee would resist any attempt to impose individuals or groups as party executives. She emphasized that transparency, fairness, credibility, and inclusiveness would guide every stage of the congresses.
“The party has entrusted us with a clear mandate, and we are committed to carrying out this responsibility diligently, while fully upholding the rights of members to vote and be voted for,” she stated.
Describing the congresses as a vital democratic process, Ekwunife who represented Anambra Central in the 9th Senate noted that the committee’s terms of reference clearly provide for equal treatment of all party members. She stressed that adherence to democratic principles is essential to producing executive committees capable of advancing the party’s goals.
“This is a democratic exercise, and all members must be treated with fairness and respect. Only through openness and due process can we establish party executives that will effectively serve the interest of the APC,” she added.
The Party’s 2025 Deputy Governorship Candidate further highlighted that the stability and growth of the APC in Anambra State depend on orderly participation, respect for party structures, and strict observance of due process. She therefore urged stakeholders to refrain from inflammatory remarks and allow the party’s internal mechanisms to operate without interference.
In conclusion she affirmed the committee’s commitment to a harmonisation process that will strengthen the party, rebuild confidence among members, and reinforce internal democracy across the state.
