The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared winners in four House of Representatives primary elections conducted across Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the APC House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Musa Shuaibu Guri, announced the results on Sunday in Lafia, saying delays experienced in announcing some results were caused by difficult terrain and security concerns in parts of the state.

Addressing party officials, security agencies and journalists, Guri said the committee avoided exposing its personnel to danger by travelling at night in areas with security challenges.

“There was a little delay due to issues of terrain, and yesterday in some areas where there are little security challenges, we cannot risk our staff to start going at night,” he said.

Declaring the result for Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency, Guri said Mohammed Al-Bashir Babae Rima emerged winner after polling 31,796 votes to defeat other contestants.

According to him, Ahmed Wadah Ekaka scored 1,888 votes, while Abdullahi Jibril Alassi got 3,728 votes and Ali Abdul Mumin Muhammad polled 9,039 votes.

“Mohammed Al-Bashir Babae Rima has satisfied the requirements of APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes, and is hereby declared the winner of the primary election,” Guri stated.

In Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency, Tony Bala Sharma emerged victorious with 38,333 votes, defeating Jeremiah Umaru who scored 4,061 votes.

Guri said Shama “has satisfied the requirements of APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes,” and was therefore returned elected as the party’s candidate
