The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a temporary closure of its national secretariat at No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

A memo dated 10 April 2025, signed by Deputy Director of Administration Ubagba Abel, linked the closure to the death of Hon. Lateef AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji, the kidnapped and murdered Director of Administration. Adeniji was abducted about two months ago in the Kubwa area of Abuja and confirmed dead on Thursday.

Reports indicate that he was killed despite the party paying N50 million to his abductors. The memo, titled “Secretariat closure for the mourning of the Director of Administration,” urged staff to use the mourning period for reflection and prayers for his family and loved ones.

It stated, “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th April 2025.”

“This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration Late Hon. AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji,” the party added.
