A former member of the House of Representatives, who represented Ika federal constituency of Delta State, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, is dead.

Sources close to the outspoken Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Delta State said he died on Wednesday night while watching the AFCON 2023 semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.

“As soon as a penalty kick was awarded against Nigeria during the AFCON match with South Africa on Wednesday’s semi-final clash in Bouake, Ivory Coast, he slumped,” a source privy to the incident told Sun on Thursday.

Cairo was a former director of projects in the immediate past interim board of Niger Delta Development Commission, he was expelled from the APC over his unethical conduct during the February 25 presidential and March 18 governorship elections. He was also a 2019 Governorship Aspirant in Delta State.
