The All Progressives Congress has expressed confidence that its 2026 National Convention will be smooth and well organised, with structures already in place to minimise disruptions.

Appearing on ARISE News, Assistant Secretary Mary Ikoku, who spoke on behalf of the party’s media and publicity committee, said multiple committees and subcommittees have been set up and are already active, holding meetings and coordinating plans for the event.

“For instance, you have all of the committees and subcommittees that have been set up and they’ve been meeting,” she said, adding that the level of preparation reflects the party’s readiness.

She noted that state governors are also playing key roles, particularly in supporting logistics and ensuring that delegates travelling from different parts of the country are properly catered for.

Ikoku explained that liaison committees have been created to manage overlapping responsibilities and resolve issues across teams, helping to maintain coordination and reduce the risk of disruption.

She added that the convention will begin with accreditation of delegates, while other committees are already handling accommodation, venue readiness, and general logistics. “Would it be 100% hitch-free? I envisage that nothing is ever perfect. However, we’re doing our best…,” she said.

According to her, a central theme and unified messaging have also been adopted across all committees, reinforcing the party’s focus on unity, stability and progress ahead of the convention.
