Over 200 residents of Apapa Local Government Area of Lagos have graduated from the council’s skills acquisition center, as they were empowered with startup kits, equipment and cash.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony which took place at the council’s secretariat, Council Chairman, Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo congratulated the graduands for their commitment and perseverance in their skill acquisition and admonished them to immediately put to use the skills they have acquired, as there is no better time for them to appreciate what they have learnt than now, stressing that the challenges that follow the removal of fuel subsidy will enable everyone to look inward and develop their inherent gifts.
She wished them success in their chosen vocation and reminded them that they possess unique gifts that can only be discovered by being resolute, dogged and determined.
She charged them not to limit themselves to what they have learnt but to make use of the internet by enrolling in courses that will improve and develop them to be a sought-after entrepreneur.
