The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that any tertiary institution still processing admissions outside the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is doing so at its own peril, warning that any admission not processed on CAPS is illegal.

This is important as candidates move to the next stage of the 2024 UTME processing, which is admission.

The Jigawa State coordinator, Mr. Bello Aminu, disclosed this while welcoming the management team of the Jigawa State College of Health Sciences to the board’s state office in Dutse, recently.

In his address, the provost of the college, Mr. Abubakar Abdullahi, said their visit centred on the need to seek further clarification on the admission procedures, especially in relation to the operation of IBASS and CAPS.

Abdullahi stated that the institution would abide by all guidelines on admissions as specified by the board.

Furthermore, the state coordinator explained that one of the functions of IBASS and CAPS was to serve as clearing houses among regulatory agencies, the institutions and JAMB on admission matters.

Finally, he said that the board would continue to guide and support all the tertiary institutions in Nigeria on the admissions processes so as to ensure seamless admission exercise.
