Another victim of Monday’s fire incident at the Canadian High Commission, Abuja, is dead.
A source familiar with the development told Daily Sun that one of the injured staff, whose identity was yet to be disclosed, died yesterday at an unnamed hospital.
“One of those injured staff of the Canadian embassy (high commission) died today in the hospital, making three now,” the source said.
An explosion from the generator room of the Canadian High Commission, had, on Monday, claimed two lives, with two others injured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while commiserating with the Canadian High Commission, on Tuesday, said the unfortunate fire incident, which occurred on Monday, left two people, a contractor and a locally engaged staff of the mission, dead, with two others injured.
“The ministry extends its condolences to the High Commissioner, members of staff of the mission and the families of the deceased and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Spokesperson, Francisca Omayuli, said.
