From Desmond Mgboh, Kano
A member of the House of Representatives, Sagir Koki has renounced his membership of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).
In a letter to the Zaitawa Ward Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), dated 11th November 2025, the legislator said his resignation was effective from the 11th November 2025.
In the letter, he explained that his resignation was enabled by the virtue of the right conferred on him by Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution and Article 7.1 of the NNPP Constitution.
Koki noted that his resignation became inevitable in the light of the internal party leadership crisis at the center, which had made it impossible for him to discharge his legislative duties and provide the desired representation for his constituents.
He thanked the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) for the opportunity accorded to him to serve his people under their platform.
