ANOCA grants financial support to LOC -Ghana’s African Games organisers

The Association of National Olympic Committee of Africa (ANOCA) has donated $200,000 to the Local Organising Committee of the Accra 2023 African Games.

ÀNOCA used the opportunity of a formal session of the presentations of Legends of Ghana at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legion in Accra to demonstrate its solidarity.

Nigeria’s Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, the Treasurer-General of ANOCA made the presentation of the cheque on behalf of the African Olympic body.

Engr. Gumel, who also doubles as president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) had acted on behalf of President of ANOCA, Mustapha Iberraf of Algeria.

Gumel had applauded the LOC and the entire people of Ghana for staging the ongoing Games.

He explained that the donation was ANOCA’s way of showing support for their commitment to the hosting of the event.

‘’We know it has not been easy, but the commitment has been great.

‘’We thank the government, LOC and people of Ghana for their hospitality and appreciate their commitment with this support from ANOCA,’’ he remarked.

ANOCA is a body responsible for organising African National Olympic Committees it is at the forefront of supporting the growth and development of Olympic sports in the continent.
