Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Chief Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal, has threatened legal action against more than 100 bloggers, YouTubers and social media personalities, including fellow actress, Iyabo Ojo and her daughter, Priscilla, over alleged defamation, libel and cyberbullying.
In cease-and-desist notices dated October 3, 2026, Anjorin, through her lawyers, demanded the removal of disputed online publications, public retractions and apologies, and written undertakings from the recipients not to repeat the alleged conduct.
The notices warned that failure to comply within seven days could trigger legal proceedings, including claims for N50 million in damages against each affected individual.
Others named in the notices include Gistlover, Amebohotgist, PauseandponderTV, Alujo TV, Alaroye TV, Tosin Silverdam Media Blog, TVCNewsNg, actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Izzy Ogbeide, Miss Debby TV and Germany Boss Lady TV.
Also listed are Esabod Tokunbo Aboderin, Akeem Akintola Olalekan Taoreed, Olu Olowogemo Harejan, Adewunmi Fatai, Olabanji Farms and Alvin Odibo, alongside several other online commentators and media platforms.
The notices were issued by Anjorin’s legal representatives, O.A.U. Enahoro, Bayo Akinlade and A.U.E. Ogboi, who accused the recipients of publishing allegedly defamatory material concerning the actress, her businesses and her family.
According to the lawyers, the disputed content was allegedly circulated to attract public attention and generate revenue at the expense of their client’s reputation, exposing her to ridicule and threatening her commercial interests.
The legal team further alleged that some recipients had used live broadcasts and other online platforms to circulate false claims and make criminal allegations against Anjorin without supporting police reports or court judgments.
The lawyers argued that such publications could erode public confidence in the actress and her business ventures, with potentially damaging consequences for her reputation and commercial activities.
Consequently, the recipients were directed to delete the disputed posts, videos, live broadcasts, clips and reposts from their respective platforms within seven days of receiving the notices.
They were also asked to issue public retractions and apologies with prominence comparable to that of the allegedly defamatory content and provide written assurances that they would not repeat the conduct complained of.
The lawyers warned that non-compliance could lead to lawsuits seeking N50 million in damages against each affected individual, as specified in the notices.
Beyond monetary claims, Anjorin’s legal team threatened to seek perpetual injunctions restraining further publication of the disputed material, as well as recovery of litigation costs.
The notices also indicated that the actress could petition relevant security agencies to investigate the alleged conduct and consider possible criminal investigation and prosecution.
According to the documents, the notices had been delivered to some recipients through their social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, as well as by email and registered delivery methods.
The proposed legal action places the dispute between the actress and the named online personalities on a potential legal footing, with compliance with the demands or the commencement of court proceedings likely to determine the next phase of the matter.
