The Senate has gone into a closed door session, to take a decision over the refusal of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris to appear for the third time before the upper legislative chamber.

The IGP was first invited a fortnight ago, but failed to show up. Again, he was re-summoned to to appear last week. He declined. For the last time, the Senate invited him to appear today. He refused to show up.

At the end of the closed door session, the Senate will take a decision on the appropriate sanctions to melt out.
