Super Eagles’ hopes of keeping head coach Eric Chelle are now under serious pressure after Angola reportedly returned with a jaw-dropping offer.

The Franco-Malian who guided Nigerian to AFCON 2025 bronze medal is in the final phase of his two-year contract.

However, after returning from Morocco, Chelle held meetings with officials from the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Sports Commission about extending his deal.

Recall Chelle reportedly requested a salary increase to $100,000 per month from the NFF following contract talks with the federation with no confirmation yet from Chelle or the NFF regarding the reported demand.

According to South African-based journalist Kamogelo Motecwane, “Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle’s contract extension talks with the NFF have stalled. Sources close to the situation confirm the Angolan Football Federation has returned with a major offer to tempt Chelle away.

“Meanwhile Angola, Esperance & Al-Shabab have shown interest.”
