Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou has been appointed new manager for English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, Turkish transfer market expert Ekrem Konur disclosed.

This comes barely a day after the sacking of Nuno Espírito Santo, nearly two weeks after Forest’s 3-0 home defeat to West Ham United.

Postecoglou, former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, and Fulham boss Marco Silva were identified as frontrunners to replace the Portuguese tactician.

Postecoglou had been without a job since being given the boot at Tottenham Hotspur in June.

Although he helped Spurs win the Europa League, their first title in 17 years, the 59-year-old Australian oversaw a staggering 22 league defeats – the worst Premier League record for a team to avoid relegation – as Spurs finished 17th on the log.

Forest have not officially announced the appointment.
