The National President of the Authentic Nigerian Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to provide Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle with all the support required to succeed in his role.

Ogunjimi expressed confidence in Chelle’s ability to lead Nigeria to a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title, citing the encouraging progress made by the Franco-Malian tactician since taking charge of the three-time African champions.

The sports supporters’ leader praised Chelle’s tactical approach and leadership qualities, noting that the coach had already demonstrated his credentials through his performances on the international stage.

According to Ogunjimi, Chelle’s achievements, including guiding his team to a third-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations and leading the Super Eagles to back-to-back Unity Cup successes in London, are evidence of his capability to build a formidable national team.

“Eric Chelle has shown flashes of what he can do with this team. Winning the Unity Cup twice in London and his performance at the AFCON are clear indications that he has the capacity to build a strong and competitive Super Eagles side,” Ogunjimi said.

He urged the NFF to create an enabling environment for the coach by ensuring that all reasonable requests necessary for the team’s development are met.

“If we truly want the Super Eagles to return to the summit of African football, then the federation must back the coach fully and provide him with all the tools he needs to succeed,” he added.

Ogunjimi also appealed to Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting the national team as Chelle works to assemble a squad capable of challenging for major honours in Africa and beyond.
