ANFASSC calls for government, public funding to sustain

The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their qualification for the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), praising the team’s resilience, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the supporters’ club said it has activated its full support structure ahead of Nigeria’s semi-final clash against host nation Morocco.

According to the group, the mobilisation is aimed at ensuring organised and sustained support for the Super Eagles at a critical stage of the competition, including logistical planning and supporter engagement to maintain a strong Nigerian presence in and around the stadium.

ANFASSC also appealed to the Federal Government, sports authorities, corporate organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians for financial and logistical assistance to support fan mobilisation efforts. The club noted that such support would help cover transportation, accommodation, musical coordination, and other operational needs required for effective matchday backing.

The supporters’ group further called for streamlined and accessible ticketing arrangements for Nigerian fans, stressing the importance of early release, fair distribution, and ease of access to match tickets. It said improved ticketing processes would enhance crowd organisation, safety, and the overall atmosphere in favour of the Super Eagles.

As part of its preparations, ANFASSC disclosed that it has intensified internal coordination, supporter orientation, and engagement with relevant stakeholders to promote disciplined conduct, unity, and positive representation among Nigerian supporters. The club reaffirmed its commitment to working with other supporters’ groups to present a united front in support of the national team.

With Nigeria on the verge of another AFCON final, ANFASSC assured the Super Eagles of its continued support and urged all stakeholders to rally behind the team through collective effort, strategic funding, and national unity as the country pursues continental glory.
