The National President of the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, has appealed to the Nigerian football community to rally behind the newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle.
Ogunjimi emphasized that the ultimate goal is to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and to emerge victorious at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
“We must put aside our differences and unite behind Coach Eric Chelle and the Super Eagles,” Ogunjimi noted. “Qualifying for the World Cup and winning the Africa Cup of Nations are our top priorities, and we must work together to achieve these objectives.”
He further expressed confidence in Coach Chelle’s ability to lead the Super Eagles to success but stressed that the team needs the support of all stakeholders to realize their potential.
“I am calling on all Nigerian football fans, the Nigeria Football Federation, sponsors, and well-wishers to throw their weight behind Coach Chelle and the Super Eagles,” Ogunjimi said. “Together, we can achieve greatness and bring glory to our beloved country.”
With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on the menu, Ogunjimi’s appeal is a timely reminder of the importance of unity and support for the Super Eagles as they embark on their quest for success.
Meanwhile, Ogunjimi’s plea for unity and support is not limited to Chelle’s success even as he also underscored the importance of collaborating with the National Sports Commission (NSC) to implement the Renewed Hope Sports Agenda.
