The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Supporters Club (ANFASSC) has pledged full backing for the Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle Under-14 Football League following a high-profile courtesy visit to its national secretariat in Surulere, Lagos.

A delegation led by the Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Adedotun Coker, and the Director of Sports, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, McAnthony Anaelechukwu—who also serves as Chairman of the League Management Committee—paid a working visit to the ANFASSC headquarters at 96 Ogunlana Drive.

The team was received by ANFASSC National President, Prince Abayomi, who assured the organisers of the supporters’ club’s unwavering commitment to the grassroots initiative.

In a symbolic gesture of solidarity, Prince Abayomi donated sets of Super Eagles replica jerseys and official ANFASSC jerseys to the foundation. He further disclosed that the club’s vibrant supporters would be present throughout the tournament to provide spirited fan engagement and entertainment.

Describing the league as a timely intervention in youth football development, the ANFASSC president praised the vision behind the project.

“This is what Nigerian football has been waiting for. The Nathaniel Idowu Foundation is not just talking about change; they are building it, one pitch at a time. By creating a structured platform for Under-14 players in Ajegunle, they are giving hope to thousands of young talents and strengthening the grassroots where our football truly lives,” Abayomi said.

He urged corporate organisations and other stakeholders to support similar community-driven sports initiatives aimed at nurturing the next generation of Nigerian football stars.

The Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle Under-14 Football League is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Nathaniel Idowu Pitch in Oregie, Ajegunle, Apapa. A total of 12 academies will compete for honours, with a prize pool exceeding ₦1 million at stake.

The statement was signed by the Publicity Department of the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Supporters Club (ANFASSC) on February 12, 2026.
