There is tension in Onitsha South 11 Constituency following omission of the name of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Beverly Ikpeazu, on the final list of the House of Assembly candidates, released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC ), in Awka, Anambra State.

Six APGA aspirants to the House of Assembly, Ndu-ka Alor, Larry Edemanya, Emeka Akanegbu, Achebe Egbuna and two others had dragged Ikpeazu to court, saying no primary election was held in the constituency, but that a certificate of return was issued to her by the leadership of APGA that supervised the election.

When contacted, Ikpeazu, who is the incumbent legislator representing the constituency in the House of Assembly, insisted she is still in the race and that nothing happened to her name on the INEC list.
