The Mmirioma Students and Youth Movement, alongside the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Students Wing, has announced plans for a 1,000-man march supporting Senator Emmanuel Nwachukwu (Ọnọdụgo) and Paschal Agbodike across Ihiala Federal Constituency and Anambra South Senatorial District.
The march, scheduled for today Saturday, October 24, 2026, will begin at Total Filling Station in Ihiala and end at the Uli Campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).
The convener, Ibe Emmanuel Agbaego, explained that the march aims to mobilise youth support ahead of the 2027 elections under the slogans ‘Mmirioma 2027’ and ‘Ọnọdụgo 2027’, reaffirming the district as an APGA stronghold.
In a related development, the Anambra South Youth Solidarity Forum, through Pamela O., called for political continuity.
The forum argued that Senator Nwachukwu should be allowed to consolidate his legislative interventions and federal engagements, rather than sacrificing a working mandate for rotational politics.

Nwachukwu entered the 10th Senate via an August 2025 by-election, following the demise of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The forum noted that retaining his predecessor’s administrative secretary preserved institutional memory and ensured uninterrupted constituent services.
The forum noted that Nwachukwu’s key interventions, including engagements with the Transmission Company of Nigeria over electricity infrastructure in Nnobi and Nnewi, a Senate motion on the deteriorated Okija Spur–Ihembosi–Ukpor–Ebenator–Ezinifite road corridor, and erosion control measures across Aguata, Orumba, and Ihiala.
They cited his collaboration with NEMA and the Red Cross for disaster relief, youth employment initiatives, plans for over 3,000 solar street lights, and his opposition to manual election result transmission during Electoral Act debates.
Acknowledging the right of other aspirants to contest, the forum maintained that political succession should prioritise performance over rotation, positioning the upcoming march as a major show of solidarity ahead of 2027.
