From Obinna Odogwu, Awka
The Anambra State Government has expressed its readiness to work closely with Globacom Limited, to strengthen the state’s digital infrastructure and accelerate its transition into a leading digital hub in Nigeria.
Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, made the disclosure when a team from the telecom company visited the Government House, Awka, on a courtesy visit.
A statement from her office quoted her as saying that the state was undergoing aggressive urban renewal and digital transformation under Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. She noted that the government was expanding and modernising Awka and Onitsha into new cities, and needed partners like Globacom to drive the vision.

Leading the delegation, Director of Enterprise Business, Globacom, Mr. Adeniyi Odejoni, commended Governor Soludo for his infrastructure drive in security, roads, and urban development. He said Glo, which democratised SIM card access in Nigeria, was now evolving into a full digital solutions company.
With significant infrastructure already in Anambra, he pledged a mutually beneficial partnership offering high-speed dedicated internet for government offices, schools, and hospitals.
