The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah has condemned the killings of over 11 Ebonyi indigenes in Ogboji, Anambra State, during a meeting on Monday.
Ogah, while condemning the dastardly act, urged Anambra state government and security agencies to go after the killers.
He expressed dismay that Ebonyi people are being killed in Anambra state and urged Governor Charles Soludo to ensure the safety of lives and property of Ebonyi people in Anambra state .
The lawmaker recalled that an Ebonyi man in Anambra state was recently shot dead by Operation Udo ga achi in the state without the perpetrators being brought to book before the latest massacre of over 11 persons during a peaceful meeting.
“The killers of Ebonyi indigenes in Anambra state are trying to cause disunity in South East and security agencies and Soludo should not allow this.
“There is no way people will come and open fire in a broad daylight and massacred people where they were having a meeting which was not in the forest and they will come to say they don’t know the perpetrators.
“Operation Udo ga achi knew what happened to these peace -loving Ebonyi people that were massacred.
“This operation Udo ga achi had killed an Ebonyi man recently and nothing has been done about it till today. If they don’t know what happened to the over I1 Ebonyi indigenes in Anambra state, let them produce the perpetrators”, he said.
Ogah urged the security agencies to immediately investigate the killings to ensure justice.
He supported the condemnation of the killings by Governor Francis Nwifuru and urged Ebonyi people to remain calm over the massacre and avoid taking laws into their hands in order not to escalate the tension the killing has created.
