Anambra lawmaker, Ikpeazu, trains, empower 350 constituents in Onitsha South LG

A member representing Onitsha North/South federal constituency at the House of Representatives of Anambra State Hon. Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu has trained 350 youths, men and women on capacity building on cosmetology and disinfectant in Onitsha South local government area of the state.
The lawmaker after the training doled out the sum of N17.5 million, N50, 000 for each participant of the training to start their own businesses.
The training held at St. Andrew Basilica hall Odoakpu Onitsha was attracted by Hon. Ikpeazu in conjunction with Federal Ministry of Labour and Empowerment under Industrial Arbitration Panel agency and Zayad International limited.
The participants were trained on Bleach making, Dettol, Izal, Liquid, Car wash, Shampoo, Toilet wash and Tile cleaner productions by the resource person, Mrs. Blessing Ogochukwu Oforji who took them on various steps and stages of production with adequate chemicals and materials/substance for quality and safe production.
The participants cut across tribes, political affiliations and age as far the beneficiary resides in Onitsha South LGA. At the end of the three-day training each participant was given seed money of N50, 000 to set up their own business.
The Managing Director of Zayad International limited Mr. Ilora Fabian Ilochi commended Industrial Arbitration Panel an agency under minister of Labour and employment for training which was facilitated by Hon. Lynda Ikpeazu for their initiative.
He said that the agency was selected for the training based on its efforts in providing entrepreneurial and empowerment skills to the beneficiaries to be an employers of Labour and contribute to the economy of the state and Nigeria.
Ilochi said that the lawmaker has been empowering her constituents since she went the House of Reps, saying that over 350 people were trained and empowered by the Ikpeazu against over 200 people planned to train due to her zeal to put smile on faces of her people.
“The training and empowerment will continue next week for Onitsha North LGA constituents. There is no week that will pass that she doesn’t empower good number of her constituents. So, this is not the first time and it will not be the last, it’s a continuous exercise due to her love for your people.
“I urged the participants to put to good use of the money given them to start their own business no matter how small. This is because no amount is small or big in starting business depending on how you handle it. I want to commend Hon. Ikpeazu for this opportunity given to her constituents to train them on skills and empower them with seed money to start” he stated.
The lawmaker who was represented by her Constituency Manager Mr. Uche Okiwe said the lawmaker has been attracting so many projects and empowerments to the constituency since she was elected into House of Reps.
“She has attracted so many empowerment programmes. What we did today was to train some people on how to produce Izal, shampoo, tile cleaner, bleach among others and after the training the participants were given N50,000 each as seed money to enable them to start their own businesses.
“They were selected from various wards, groups and communities in the constituency in Onitsha South LGA. I believe that the training will have a multiplier effects to the participants because they can start their production and be a distributor of the product and create jobs.
“We have more training and empowerment to come. We had before now provided basic equipment for those who learnt one skill or the other in our previous training. The lawmaker has rehabilitated 21 roads, some are still on going. The participants will be given certificates and have opportunity for CBN loan expand their businesses.
“The training/empowerment cut across all the ethnicities in the country, all the political affiliations, churches, NGOs, town Union, market unions etc. She gave the empowerment to everybody not minding where you came from or the political party you belong to, it is for the people of Onitsha North and South” Okiwe said.
Some of the participants, Innocent Asoh, Ijeoma Chikezie, Raymond Anyaji and Nkeiru Mouneke who were excited after receiving the seed money thanked Hon. Ikpeazu for the opportunity, saying that it was an apple opportunity to excel in life and to be self reliant.
They described Lynda as God sent to uplift the people of Onitsha and those living in that constituency, saying that since Lynda went to Abuja to represent the area, the constituents have been singing praises due to constituency projects attracted to the area and various empowerment programmes given to the people.
“We are short of words to thank Ikpeazu for this training and empowerment which is one of the best empowerments so far where participants after training were given cash of N50, 000 as seed money to start their own business.
“This is not the first time she had empowered people in this area, she is not interested to know where you come from, in as much you live in Onitsha. We shall continue to pray and support her aspiration in order to continue to benefit more from her magnanimity” Mrs. Chikezie stated.
