Over ten thousand youth, women, and adult residents in Anambra State held a road show and street-to-street rally yesterday in solidarity with the gubernatorial candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the forthcoming poll, Ọzọ Jeff Nweke.
The massive crowd, who toured Awka, Nibo, Mbaukwu, Amawbia and Umuokpu, jubilating and singing solidarity songs in different vehicles and with the party’s campaign materials, expressed readiness to vote massively for Nweke on Saturday.
They also urged Anambra residents to come out en masse and vote for AA standard flag bearer, expressing confidence that his regime as governor would bring the needed change and development Anambra State deserves.
Speaking at the occasion, one of the campaigners, Mr Praise Okoye, described Nweke as the only fearless, experienced and committed professional who could transform the State without fear or favour.
Also speaking, Miss Mmesoma Cornelius said she was confident in the AA candidate because he has consistently empowered the masses, offered scholarships and other interventions across the State even when he is not yet in power.

Addressing the populace, the governorship candidate, Ozo Jeff Nweke, said he was amazed at the rate people loved and supported him in the campaign and said he would reciprocate immediately he takes over the leadership of the state by investing in people-oriented policies and programmes.
“I will be committed to driving people agenda. My government will be very transparent and inclusive. My courage, carriage, connection and grassroots orientation stand me out. I will stand by you.”
Nweke further doused the fear of insecurity or violence on Election Day, assuring the masses that their votes would count, and there would be no violence.
“The security agencies and the INEC have taken care of the processes. I don’t expect anything that will disrupt the process. We expect security personnel to live up to expectations. No stone should be left unturned to ensure a free, fair and credible election — especially under the new INEC chairman who has promised that Anambra’s poll will be the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s history,” he said.
