The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Anambra State governorship election slated for November 8, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and his deputy, Senator Uche Ekwunife are setting the pace for what many describe as the most people-driven political movement in the state.
From Ihiala, Aguata, Onitsha North, Orumba North and South, Ekwusigo, Nnewi North, Awka North, Anambra East, to Anyamelum, the party’s ‘Thank You & Familiarization Tour’ has continued to gather momentum. With massive crowds, royal blessings, defections and endorsements, the party is reshaping the state’s political landscape.
Ekwunife led the campaign train to Okija in Ihiala LGA, where she engaged stakeholders, youth groups and community leaders, reaffirming the team’s resolve to listen to the grassroots and deliver inclusive development.
Prince Ukachukwu emphasised that communities, like Ihiala would no longer be marginalised under his leadership.
He assured that respect for tradition would remain his core principle.
They paid homage to Igwe F.E. Ebele-Ndu Eze Chukwu of Aguluezechukwu and Igwe Ralph Obumneme Ekpe, Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri, receiving royal blessings for peace, unity and progress.
At Aguata, thousands pledged total support as Chief JohnBosco Onunkwo presented campaign vehicles and cows to the campaign, describing the duo as the team to rescue Anambra from poverty, insecurity and bad governance.
All PDP ward chairmen in Aguata defected to the APC, cementing the area’s embrace of the rescue mission.
In Onitsha North, crowds flooded the streets to declare support, proving that the state’s commercial heartbeat is ready to back Ekwunife for purposeful leadership and sustainable prosperity.
People of Orumba North reaffirmed their confidence in the joint ticket. Ukachukwu and Ekwunife met stakeholders to outline plans for security, economic revival and quality infrastructure. Local leaders pledged to deliver massive votes during the November election.
At Ekwusigo, party faithful, youth groups and grassroots structure showed commitment to push the rescue mission to every doorpost.
Anaedo in Nnewi North also witnessed scores of residents, who turned out to honour the candidates and the legacy of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. Ukachukwu reassured them of infrastructure renewal and job creation, while Ekwunife promised to amplify the voices of women, youth and entrepreneurs across the state.
In Ebenebe Town, Awka North LGA, the APC team was received by elders, youths and traditional leaders, who pledged total support. Ukachukwu assured the people of massive infrastructure, economic opportunities and an end to decades of neglect.
At Aguleri in Anambra East, the reception was a clear vote of confidence. The people pledged to back a leadership that will align Anambra with national prosperity. Traditional leaders blessed the team as Ukachukwu reaffirmed his plan for inclusive governance.
In Anyamelum, residents, elders, and youth declared support for the APC ticket. At a town hall in Omor, community leaders recalled years of neglect, praising Ukachukwu’s sincerity and presence.
One elder said: “None has taken our plight seriously like this team. With Iyom beside him, our voices will finally reach the Government House.”
