The Amanuke community in Awka North Local Government Area of AnambraState, in collaboration with the prestigious Ozo title group, has finalised arrangements to pay their final respects to the late Ozo Chief Peter Madukolu.
The burial ceremony, scheduled for today at his country home, will feature traditional cultural rites, heartfelt tributes, and prayers celebrating the life and enduring legacy of the respected community leader.
In a statement released by the family spokesperson, Mrs. Njideka Madukolu-Nwosu, the late Chief Madukolu was described as a dedicated peace broker and a courageous voice on community matters. His commitment to justice earned him widespread respect across Amanuke and neighboring towns.
Fondly known by his traditional title, “Otigbu Inyinya,” Madukolu was a high-ranking member of the Ozo society. He was frequently recognized for his significant contributions to the development and socio-economic progress of his clan.

The funeral proceedings are set to begin with a Christian burial service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Amanuke, followed immediately by traditional rites at his residence in Umuonara.
The loss is deeply felt across the Isisigwu clan, Umuonara village, and the broader Amanuke community, where he served as a pillar of strength and a mentor to many.
Reflecting on his character, Mrs. Madukolu-Nwosu noted that her father was defined by a practical, humble approach to life and an unwavering compassion for others.
“He will forever be remembered for his wise counsel and his selfless dedication to his people,” she said.
