Association of indigenes of Aguleri community in Diaspora have demanded for justice over the brutal murder of its Town Union President, Barr. Ifeanyi Rolex Iloakasia.

Iloakasia, President General (PG) of Aguleri Town Union, Anambra East LGA, was shot dead alongside his client on Thursday May 15th, 2025 near Agulu-Nanka boundary area of the state after attending a court session in Ekwulobia,

Aguleri Diaspora Organisation (ADO) in a statement released to newsmen,  said their members have been weighed down by profound grief, shock, and outrage as they unite in mourning the tragic and senseless assassination their beloved President General, Attorney Ifeanyi Rolex Iloakasia.

The statement signed by Prof. Charles O. Ochie, Chairman and Prof. Michael Obiefune, Secretary General and Chairman (US)Aguleri Diaspora Organisation Worldwide (ADOW), said Attorney Rolex was more than a leader.

“He was a symbol of peace, a custodian of justice, and a tireless advocate for unity. In his tenure as President General of Aguleri, he exemplified courage, wisdom, and selfless leadership. He dedicated his life to building bridges across divides and championing the cause of harmony between Aguleri and its neighboring communities.

Describing his loss as devastating, the Aguleri Diaspora group said it was all the more heart-wrenching that the community leader was gunned down in cold blood, in the line of duty, shortly after attending a court session with his client. —“a tragic irony that the pursuit of justice became the occasion of his death. That he died alongside his client, moments after a court session, is both cruel and deeply unjust”.

“This brutal and barbaric act has plunged our community into mourning and pierced the hearts of Agulerians around the world. The pain of this loss is immeasurable, but our resolve remains unbroken”.

While categorically condemning the atrocious act, they called on the relevant local, state, and federal authorities to initiate a comprehensive, impartial, and expeditious investigation into the matter.

“The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be identified, apprehended, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Justice must not only be done—it must be seen to be done” the group stated.

“Attorney Ifeanyi Rolex Iloakasia was not only a brilliant legal mind and courageous community leader; he was a man of integrity, compassion, and vision. To lose such a man in such a manner is a grave injustice not only to Aguleri, but to all who believe in peace, law, and human dignity”.

“As Agulerians in diaspora, we stand in full solidarity with our people at home.  We share your grief. We share your anger. And we share your hope—that justice will prevail” the statement noted.

They prayed that the moment of sorrow should strengthen their unity while the life and legacy of the murdered PG inspire renewed commitment to peace, justice, and communal solidarity.
